Jasper Girl 2nd In Pie Contest

Miss Pat Hite Qualifies As Alternate To U. S. Contest In Cherry Pie Baking Meet A state-wide Cherry 'Pie contest was held Saturday, February 5 at Purdue University. Each girl represented a county, preparing a cherry pie. Sixteen girls competed in this contest and were represented from Posey to Lake County. Each contestant made a one two-crust pie and the winner was selected on the quality of the finished product. Personality and poise of the girl was considered. Miss Pat Hite, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milt Hite represented Jasper County. Pat is a junior in the Rensselaer High School and is a member of the Home Economics class. Patricia placed second in the contest and therefore is alternate for the National contest. Sullivan county placed first, Jasper second and Newton third. Congratuations to Pat for her fine work.
