State Facing Biggest Budget In Its History

ceeding 200 millions. The biennial budget w r as submitted to the Governor by Senator John A. Kendall, Republican of Danville and chairman of the State Budget Committee. It is now up to the Governor and the legislators to handle the allowances requested and to raise money enough to pay for them. Senator Kendall said the committee had decided not to reveal the total of allowances sought for the next two years until the

Governor had had a chance to study the budget. The House of Representatives today is carrying the ball in the time issue, the Senate passed the Lane Senate Central Standard Time measure yesterday and sent it to the House. This measure would establish slow time all over the state throughout the year but carries no penalties.
