DeMotte H. S. Named Sectional Host

Chosen By IHSAA to Supervise Annual Net Tournament; Play To Be At St. Joe Fieldhouse DeMotte high school will be in the role of host when six Jasper county and five Newton county teams mix in Sectional basketball play late in February. DeMotte’s nomination as one of this year’s sixty-four Sectional hosts was announced today by the IHSAA. However, the tournament will be played at St. Joseph’s college fieldhouse here in order to accommodate a larger number of fans than the DeMotte gym can accommodate. The fieldhouse was the scene of Sectional play a year ago. The six Jasper county teams will be Remington, Wheatfield, DeMotte, Fair Oaks, Tefft and Rensselaer. Newton county will be represented by Brook, Goodland, Morocco, Kentland and Mt. Ayr. The winner of the DeMotte Sectional will play at the Hammond Regional a week later. The Hammond Regional field will be made up of the Hammond, Gary LaPorte and DeMotte Sectional winners.
