‘NIP FAIRCHILD SLIGHTLY IMPROVED

The condition of Nelson (Nip) Fairchild, who was taken to the Jasper county hospital in November, suffering w r ith a severly •infected leg, is improved. He is still seriously ill, but, unless something unforseen occurs Mr. Fairchild will not lose the leg as had been feared at first. His complete recovery will require many more months of hospitalization. - ’ Pfc. Jim Story has been home for a week. He is stationed at a Marine Base, Cherry Point, North Carolina.
