HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO FETE ‘CENTURY’ FARM FAMILIES
Lafayette, Ind., Dec. 22 Hoosier farm families who have completed 100 years of ownership of the same farm will be recognized again at a meeting of the Indiana Historical Society Wednesday, Dec. 29. The meeting will be held in Eliza Fowler Hall as part of the Winter Agriculture Conference program at Purdue University and will start at 1:30 p.m. Dean H. J. Reed, director of agriculture activities at the university, will welcome the group T. R. Johnston, director of information at Purdue, will introduce the guest speaker, Dr. W. O. Lynch, Bloomington, president of the Indiana Historical Society and professor emeritus of history at Indiana University. The awarding of certificates to Indiana’s centennial farm famhistorical group. Prof. O. G. Loyd ilies was started last year by farm tenure specialist at Purdue, will talk on “Some Observations of Transfer of Farm Ownership” and will lead the discussion to follow on the methods of transferring ownership. Certificates will be presented by H. H. Peckham, Indianapolis, director of the Indiana Historical Bureau. More than 1,200 such • certificates were presented last year.
