Tuesday To Bring Opening Of Com Show

Show To Be At Armory; Banquet Thursday Night At Christian Church The Jasper Corn Show will be held in the Rensselaer Armory Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Exhibitors should bring their corn exhibits to the Armory on Tuesday or early Wednesday morning. Exhibits will be received * all day Tuesday up to 9:00 p.m. that evening. Entries will also be received Wednesday morning. Entries will be closed at 9:30 when judging is scheduled to begin. Prof. R. R. Mulvey, superintendent of the Soils and Crops farm at Purdue University and John Frost, corn breeding specialist will judge the Show. Classes will be open to men and boys in separate divisions. These divisions include single ear, ten ear, bushel basket of ears, and peck samples of shelled corn. Boys’ classes include divisions for the 4-H corn club, vocational, high school, and rural grades from the sth to Bth grades inclusive. The annual corn 'growers banquet will be held on Thursday night, December 9th, at the Christian church at 6:30. Tickets for the banquet may be secured at the Hanley and Hopkins, Long’s and Fendig Drug Stores, County Agent office, vocational students and members of the committee. Corn trophies and the 5 acre corn growing contest winners in the men and boys’ division will be awarded at this time. Special entertainment also has been provided. On Wednesday night an tional program will be held in the Armory dealing with soil and fertilizer problems under the direction of County Agent J. A. Carroll. This program will begin at 7:45 p.m.
