Junior Howard Is Convicted In Michigan Court

Jasper County Youth Found Guilty Of Assaulting Aged Man; Given l-To-3-Year Term Junior Howard, Jasper county youth, whose checkered career drew him into frequent clashes with the law, is now an inmate of Michigan state prison at Jackson, Mich., where he was taken following his conviction in Calhoun circuit court at Albion, Michigan, on November 6, Wm. Webb, Jasper county sheriff has been advised. Howard was captured several months ago by Jasper county authorities who arrested him on a fugitive warrant from Michigan He is accused of the near-fatal beating of an elderly Albion man, whose condition still remains serious. The specific charge against Howard was assault and battery with intent to commit murder. Should Howard’s victim die within a year a murder charge will be filed against him. Howard was given an indeterminate sentence of from one to three years.
