The staff of the Keen Keener, the DeMotte school paper, is sponsoring a contest which is well on it’s way. Each class is placed on a percentage basis. The class that wins will get an ice cream treat instead of a class period. The price of the Keen Keener is 30c by carrier and 40c by mail. The contest closes November 5. So come on, let’s get our subscriptions in right now. On Monday, October 25, the school elected their cheer leaders for the year.-This year we have two groups. The first group consists of Beatrice Streveler, Marilyn Sauer and Edna DeFries. The second, Marcella Nuss, Janet Hammerton and Doris Coberly. Lets really give out with the yells. The first basketball game of the year is Friday, November 5, on the home floor, against the Remington Rifles. The game begins at 7:30. Lets back up the team. Wednesday, November 3, nine girls had a luncheon treat. They sold the most subscription for magazines. Darlene Grevenstuk has been
seriously ill with pneumonia, but she is very much improved. She is in the sixth grade. These are some very important dates to remember. November 5, we play Remington here. November 9, P.T.A. at 8 p.m. November 12 game with Wheatfield on their floor. November 16 Morocco game, there. On November 19 the Senior Play at 8 p.m. November 23 Tefft game here. November 25 Thankgiving vacation starts. November 30 game with Mt. Ayr, here. The sixth grade gave a little skit in the assembly entitled “Darnum and Dailey,” Wednesday.
