WARNING TO SPEEDERS THROUGH MERRILLVILLE

The following was submitted by T. R. Houchin, trustee of Lake County. The State Rolice have agreed and are now co-operating with the civic groups of Merrillville to cut down the dangerous speeding through the town on broadway. This drive is beng pushed because of a child getting hurt. School buses 4 could not get onto ‘\ • this highway. The drive began October 29th and several arrests have been made. One man who was arrested" and fined is from Wheatfield. C Monday, November Ist two other men from Wheatfield hit a school bus. So the drive is being pushed in earnest. The greatest offenders are people" living south of Merrillville going to and from work. If you drive through Merrillville, drive slowly and save $ll.OO for the first offense. We don’t want a speed trap, just careful driving.
