Three Cars Have 53-14 “Reunion”

No One Hurt In Saturday Night Accident As 3 Cars Undergo Damage There was a three-car "reunion” at the intersection of Roads 43 and 14 at 7 o’clock Saturday night. No one was hurt in the three-car get-together, but each of the cars underwent some damage. Earl Cooper, 21, of Goodland drove onto Highway 14 from the east and his car collided with that of Marion Martin, 19, who was traveling north on 53. The Martin car is owned by Louise Martin of LaPorte. The Martin car was tossed into the path of the car of Elmer Schroyer who was traveling north on 53. The damage to Martin’s car was set at S2O, that of Cooper’s car at $25 and that of Schroyer’s car at $25.

Bonus Harvests Heavy Vote In Jasper County

Soldiers' Measure Scampers To Victory By Margin of Three To One It was just a romp for the Indiana soldier’s bonus referendum so far as Jasper county went in Tuesday’s election. Local voters backed the referendum by a margin of better than three to one. The exact count was 4252 for the measure, only 1376 against.' The state ratio is expected to run 4 to 1 for the amendment. Five methods of financing the bonus payments were also left to the discretion of the voters. Jasper county favored a sales tax as the payment method. The methods proposed were (1) Sales tax; (2) Increase in gross income tax rates; (3) Net income tax; (4) Exemption from real estate taxation over a period of years; (5) Exemption from gross income tax payment over a period of years. To Speak At Farm Bureau Convention

Kenneth Wiseman, of 206 South Miltor street in Rensselaer, will take an active part in the twelfth annual convention for agents of the Farm Bureau Insurance Service in the Murat Temple, Indianapolis, on November 9. The general agent from Jasper county, Mr. Wiseman will address the group on “Building Prestige.’' The one-day convention for all Farm Bureau insurance agents and their wives will feature a program of addresses by various agents and guests ending with a banquet in the evening. Outstanding guests speakers on the program will be Hassil E. Schengk, president of Indiana Farm Bureau, Inc.; James A. Worsham, sales consultant and author of “Low Pressure Selling"; G. A. Saas, owner of an Indianapolis advertising agency, and Alden C. Palmer, director of sales training for Insurance Research and Review Service.
