The DeMotte Volunteer Fire Department was called to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Knip in the. North part of town about 9:30, Wednesday evening, October 20. Their quick action in putting out the fire which had started on the North side of the roof, resulted in little damage, where the loss of time would have proved disasterous in a few minutes. A small hole was' burned through the roof. The house is the property of Mrs. August Schultz. | This Wednesday about noon they made a run to the West end of town to put out a grass fire.
