King Corn To Take Over Local Stage Dec. 7-9

Growers Urged To Start Making Selection For Annual Show; Banquet December 9 Jasper county corn growers are urged to begin selecting corn exhibits for the annual county corn show to be held on December 7, 8, and 9th in the Armory at Rensselaer. The corn show banquet will be held on Thursday night, December Bth in the Christian church, according to Walter Kelly, chairman of the banquet committee this year. Corn exhibit classes include ten ear samples, single ear, bushel basket of ear corn, and peck containers of shelled corn, either white or yellow. Separate divisions in the show are open to farmers with other exhibit classes for boys in the fifth, sixth, seventh and Bth grade classes in the rural schools of the county, high school boys and 4-H corn club classes. All exhibits of corn will be judged on a market basis. Commercial seed corn growers desiring to set seed corn display booths in the show are requested to contact one of the following committee members who have charge of the allocation of space: Theodore Amsler, Earl Hensler, Aloys Kohley, Lowell Wolever, Logan Houston, and Marion Irwin.
