P.T.A. MEETING
The October meeting of tle P.T.A., Tuesday evening, October 12, was opened with the pledge to the flag. The DeMotte girl’s Sextett furnished the music. These girls a*e very good and are planning on entering the state contest in the Spring. They are: Marcella Nu?s, Beatrice Streveler, Mary Ann Peterson, Dolores De Vries, Esther Nannenga and Carol Unzieker. Dorothy Schoonveld accompanied them at the piano. The membership committee reported that for a pupil to g< ? credit for his or her room f< the $5.00 membership award thei parents must join the P.T.A. b October 31st. The school is planning a Hoi lowe’en carnival again this yeat The P.T.A. plans to have ; booth. The organization has decide as their project for this yea the buying of new drapes for th gym. They are going to cost a lo of money and we will need plenty of help. State policemen Sutherland wa the speaker of the evening. II stressed the fact that if a littb more courtesy were shown on the highways many accident coub be avoided. In the state of Indiana last year 1109 people was killed. Of the 1109 killed 80' i were killed within 20 miles of their homes. This shows that people drive more carefully on strange roads. The sixth grade room won the attendance award for the month. The senior mothers were hoSte-.--es for the evening.
