THIS IS POLITICAL YEAR; MEET DIXIE THURMOND LOO

Augusta. Ga., Oct. 13. The 18th child of a Chinese couple here has been named for Gov. J. Strom Thurmond of South Carolina. The baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. S. Y. Loo with Dr. J. William Thurmond, brother of the state rights President nominee, making the delivery. He asked Loo, a merchant, what they’d named her. Loo« replied: “Well, its like this, your brother is Gov. Thurmond and he is Dixie’s candidate for President, so we’ll name her Dixie Thurmond Loo.”
