Truck Driver Killed Saturday At Kniman Road

Dennis Wineland, 56, Of Leßoy, Ind., Dies Following Accident is Wineland, 56, of Leroy, ...... ~ was injured fatally Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., when the truck he was driving turned over at the Kniman road corner on Highway 53, three miles south of Korker’s Inn. Two other persons riding with him were only slightly injured. The accident occured when Wineland attempted to pass a motorcycle driven by Veryl Groves of Grant Park, 111. Wineland was headed south and apparently failed to notice Groves’ signal for making a left turn toward Kniman. Veering too far to the left, Wineland first ran into the ditch on the east side of the road, and then, while attempting to get out of the ditch he swung to the right too far and went across the road in the ditch along the west side of the road. The truck finally turned over on its left throwing Wineland underneath. Wineland suffered a fractured skull which led to almost instantaneous death. Other occupants of the truck were Harry Wineland, 37, of Leroy, s n >f th*- deceased, and of R 1, Crown Point.
