Ralph Anselm Home Near Gifford Burns

Overflow From Kerosene Stove Believed Cause Of Blaze That Levels Home, Consumes Furnishings The Ralph Anselm home was consumed Wednesday when fire, believed to have resulted from an overflowing oil stove, raced through the four-story residence located one mile north of Gifford. Most of the furnishings were destroyed. In the home at the time the fire broke out were Mrs. Anselm and her two-year-old son. Neither was injured. It was the second fire in the vicinity in less than twenty-four hours, the Lebo Whitaker six-room-and-bath residence a short distance east of Newland being destroyed by fire shortly after noon Monday.
