County Gets Some State Fair Ribbons

Local Exhibitors Score In Swine Departments Of Hoosier State Fair Jasper County 4-H Club beef steers and pigs won ribbons at the Indiana State Fair Friday and Saturday in the largest exhibit of 4-H steers and pigs ever shown in the state contest. In the heavy weight Angus class, Robert Wuerthner had the 9th place steer and Rex Wuerthner, the 21st place steer. Merl Branson’s heavy weight shorthorn paced 10th in its class. In the hog show, Patricia Hite’s Chester White litter placed second. Luann Unzicker placed 3rd with a junior spring hampshire gilt. Marcia Jordan placed 6th with a junior spring Poland China gilt and Harvey Jordan placed sth with a light weight Poland China barrow. Others exhibiting at the State Fair vcefe Marvin Roberts of Remington, Lawson Waling of Rensselaer, Jim Swing and Marvin Jordan of Hanging Grove township.
