Lenonard Nagel Dies On Indiana Harbor Street
Former Rensselaerien Succumbs To Heart Attack; Resident Of Wheatfield; Rites Saturday Leonard George Nagel, a native of Rensselaer who had lived at Wheatfield the past fifteen years, died as he was entering the car of his son, Leonard, jr., in Indiana Harbor at 4:30 o’clock Wednesday p.m. He was preparing to return to his home following his day of work at City Service where he was employed as a construction worker. His death was ascribed to a heart attack. He died almost instantly. „ Mr. Nagel was born in the Rensselaer area December 4, 1893, the son of Adam and Carolyn (Beck) Nagel. He was married in this city to Miss Regina Misch on February 7, 1921. After leaving here Mr. and Mrs. Nagel lived in South Bend, from where they moved to Wheatfield. Surviving besides the widow, are the following children: Leonard Nagel and Mrs. Agnes Tackace of DeMotte, and James, Raymond, Maurice and Carl, all living at the parental home; and five brothers, Joseph of Crown Point, Edward of Remington and Bernard, Urban and Thomas of Rensselaer. He Was preceded in death by a son, Richard. Mr. Nagel was a member of Sorrowful Mothers church of Wheatfield and the Holy Name society. The funeral services will be held from Sorrowful Mothers church of Wheatfield at 9 o’clock Saturday morning, with the Rev. Sylvester Klein in charge. Interment will be at Wheatfield Catholic cemetery. The remains are at Todd’s Funeral Home in DeMotte.
