BACK TO SCHOOL DAYS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
Even though the temperature is registering right near the 100 mark and it is really too hot to do anything much but lie in the shade or spend the day at the ole’ swimmin’ hole and anyway its been an awful short vacation—well in spite of all this— yes thats right—there are only ten more days until school starts in DeMotte. September 7 is the day. Central Standard Time too. Here is a bit of information concerning books etc. During the school year of 194748 the County Board of Education studied various systems of furnishing text-books and instructional supplies. Several trips were made by different members of the Board to different systems. This was over an extended period of time. After very careful consideration the Board adopted the Newcastle plan. It involves a fee system. In other words the students will rent their text books etc., this year. . Our DeMotte school is receiving a good cleaning and polishing at present. Everything is being made ready for September 7. It is most important that every child be present that day.
