Vets Have Only Short Time Left

Hoosier veterans who have neglected to apply for their terminal leave pay were reminded today by Mr. Hemphill. Jasper County Veterans’ Affairs service officer, that jiist a few weeks remain in which the may file for this benefit. Mr. Hemphill. noted that the deadline date is September 1, 1948. ' Anyone who served honorably as an enlisted man or woman in any branch of the armed forces since September 8, 1939, is entitled to receive payment for unused leave for furlough time accumulated during that period of active service. Applicants may request either cash or bonds. The survivors of 1 deceased service personnel and the guardians of incompetent veterans are eligible to apply for the unused leave compensation, providing the veteran did not receive his terminal leave nay.
