DEMOTTE SOFT BALL FINALE

Everyone in DeMotte and vicinity will want to be on hand Wednesday, August 25th to see the final soft ball games of the 1948 season. Plans are being made to have some out of town team play our girl team. The teams has met with only one defeat this year. The final game of the evening will be between too local all star teams, The Farm Boys vs the City Slickers. Gene Korth will pilot the boys from up town and Red Evans will manage their country cousins. Many local fans have enjoyed the games played this summer. The men and boys who played in the games enjoyed the recreation they afforded. Naturally some expense wtr incurred as a result of our athletic program. We are nowinviting all of you to come out next Wednesday evening and enjoy the games, at which time you will be given the opportunity to contribute toward the expense we have had in promoting this summers athletic program. Marvin Kessinger and John Boezeman were fishing on the Tippecanoe River last Week end. Mrs. Glayds Ewart entertained the Bridge club last Friday night. Prizes were won by Mrs. Retta Williams, Florence DeYoung, Helen Melchert and Lois Bunning. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Sch'utz and son, Bobbie are spending the week-end at Shafer Lake.
