The Lions club was served a dinner the 20th by the Catholic ladies at the C.Y.O. hall. Dr. Hall, chaplain of the Michigan City prison gave an address which was greatly appreciated and highly praised by all who had the good fortune to be present. The meeting was open to the public and 69 were present. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Turner of Chicago visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hilliard. Sena Wcsner has been visiting relatives here. Albert Hoehn has bought a home in DeMotte. Nora Morris and Nettie Hayes are visiting relatives here.
Mr. J. L. Jones spent a day with friends in Rensselaer recently. Mrs. Wm. Grube visited her daughter and family in Valparaiso. The Kerns restaurant is now open, and lunch and meals are served. Max Hilliard and family were here the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Buckels of Indianapolis were home over the week-end. of town are parents of a bj Adelaide Blue visited in LaPorte and Gary’ this week. Rev. and Mrs. Archibald and Jimmie have been at Springfield. 111., most of this week where they attended the funeral of Mrs. Archibald’s mother.
