County Fair Poking Its Head Over Horizon
Officials, Department Heads Completing Arrangements For Annual Extravaganza Everett E. Fultz and Ralph Amsler, making their first starts as president and secretary, respectively, of the Jasper County Fair Association, assisted by the various department heads, are well along in their plans for the opening of the 1948 renewal on August 17th. - , The catalogues which serve as a guide post to exhibitors and all others who are interested in the exposition feature of the fair are about ready for distribution. Department heads have been busy over the county stirring interest in the event which is scheduled a week earlier than usual in order to avoid conflicts with similar events in this part of Indiana, thus eliminating an obstacle of past years. Four-H club boys and girls, tomorrow’s ag leaders, each year show an increased amount of interest in the fair, which is indeed a healthful sign. Adult farmers likewise never fail to come up with grand displays of farm products, as do housewives. The stock pens are sure to be overflowing again this year and the industrial exhibits will-be as numerous as (*’er, with increased interest because of new products which inventive America lias come up with since a year ago. The board is jubilant over prospects for this year. With bumper
crops assured, and prosperity ruling there is no reason why this fair of 1948 should not crack all existing marks in all respects. The entertainment featußea pro.-. mise~to be'T’Tt'tting and the Midway roars will be as loud as in the days of yore. Excellent shows, rides and free acts attractions long ago were booked. The racing stables were arranged for way last winter by Supezintendent Walter Kings who promises the fans something extra special this year.
