Mr. Morse has made considerable progress with the church building recently. The roof is being laid. When completed the building will be a credit to this community. Robert Kerns is improving the restaurant building recently vacated by the Charles Lawyer family w ho have moved to the country. The restaurant will be operated by Jake Kerns and wife. Mr. and Mrs. James Hankins and daughter, Diane have just returned from an eastern trip visiting New York, Washington and other places of interest. The family will go next week for a vacation at their cottage in Canada. Jimmie Hankins has been at the cottage since school closed. Bennie and Blanche Knapp are visiting relatives here after spending the winter in their home in Arizona. Anna Bradford of Libertyville, HL, is also visiting her brothers, William and Andrew Knapp.
The H. L. Langdon residence has been sold. Alfred Duggleby has purchased the Slight Garage and cottage at Dunn’s Bridge and has the same rented. Mr. and Mrs. John Williams of Los Angeles, Calif., visited relatives here and Rensselaer lyRichard Dix of Detroit is visiting his aunt, Amy Fendig and family. Jimmie Jones of Crawfordsville visited friends here recently. The Baptist ladies will furnish lunches at their lunch stand during the three day street fair. Quite a number of persons from "Wheatfield attended the picture “Summer Holiday,” at the Gayble Theatre, North Judson, Sunday evening. Mrs. Will Grube has returned from Lincoln, 111., where she visited her sister, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Perry Foust and family left Friday for a vacation in Wisconsin. Rev. John Forner and family
have gone to Wisconsin for a i vacation. Mrs. Gerald Knip received very painful arm and hand burns last Friday when the gas stove.which, she - was lighting exploded. Her ■ small daughter, who was standing near her was slightly burned also. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bass and two daughters of Rockford, 111., visited his parents; Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bass over the week end.
