Nation’s Oldest Continuous Chautauqua Continues To Challenge Time As Fountain Park Chautauqua, at Remington, Indiana, approaches Sts 54th session, opening August Ist, many favorable and complimentary comments and expression of fcood will and appreciation are coming in from all our surrounding communities. Many outsiders marvel at the continuation in existence of such a fine organization in such a small community. What has Fountain Park Chautatrt]ua contributed to this community? Probably this can be best anWUered by quoting from a letter from Howard Higgins, former President of the International Lyceum Association and Dean of Emerson College at Boston. Mass. Mr. Higgins attended Fountain Park Chautauqua in his youth and although he has been in the east for many years he has never forgotten the inspiration received here. He has the following definite remarks to make about Ffftmtain Park Chautauque, viz: “My own life has been richer because some 35 years ago my parents took me to a session of the Fountain Park Chautauqua where I heard Edward Amherst Ott speak on “Sour Grapes.” I still recall portions of that address. There must be hundreds of people throughout the United States whose lives are richer because of Fountain Park Chautauqua." This week the Fountain Park programs are being released for distribution.
