WILDLIFE REFUGE AREA BOAST BIG PLANTING SEASON

Indianapolis, Ind., July 22. Hoosier Wildlife Habitat Areas boasted the greatest activity in history during the past fiscal year, Indiana Department of Conservation officials announced today. Pittman-Robertson Project personnel completed the largest distribution in seven years of operation—planting seedlings and seeds, and broadcasting korea and sericea lespedezas—with several reasons given for the increased activity. • “This was due,” the report reads, “to increased interest in the project, the inspection of 700 older areas with replacement of seedlings and seeds, and the increased use of Multiflora Rose.” This plant is fairly new to Hoosiers, and thus far is available from state nurseries on|y for
