Jasper Co. Judging Contests Held

Forty Girls Participate; Seniors Winners To Compete At District Contest The Jasper County Judging Contest was held Tuesday, July 13 at the Rensselaer High School. Forty girls participated in the Junior Division of the Judging Contest. The winners in the Junior contest were as follows: Clothing, Ist, Nancy Nichols, Carpenter; 2nd, Roberta Houston, Gillam, Canning, Ist, Gayla Fleming, Newton; 2nd, Norma Hite, Barkley; Baking, Ist, Wilma Alexander, Union; 2nd, Nancy Stalbaum, Kankakee; Food Preparation, Ist, Elaine Hansen, Kankakee; 2nd, Carol Cheever, Kankakee. Demonstration, Ist, Norma Jo Hite, Barkley; 2nd, Donna Hackley and Helen Bowman, Carpenter. The Senior girls who will represent Jasper County in the District Contest at Lafayette, July 27th are as follows: Clothing, Ist, Janet Solomon, Wheatfield; 2nd, Jeanneta Houston, Gillam; Canning, Nancy Eldridge, Barkley, 2d, Norma Miller, Kankakee; Baking, Ist, Joyce Swing, Hanging Grove, 2nd, Maxine Jamieson, Kankakee. Food Preparation, June Sorsenson, Newton 2nd, Audray Houston, Gillam. The Senior Demonstration Champion was Kathryn Daugherty, Barkley.
