Indict Two For Hebron Bank Job

Pair Also Linked To Slaying Of Gary Policemen; 3 Bank Indictments Returned Stephen Wzesinski, 33, and Richard Shurman, 38, of Gary, linked to the alleged gang slaying of Harold C. Whitaker, 25, were indicted by a Hammond federal grand jury on three counts in the April 29 holdup of the Citizens bank in Hebron. The indictments charged them with robbery of s3*ooo, theft of an auto in Calumet City on April 28 and used the following day in the holdup, and placing of bank customers in jeopardy. Also indicted was a third member of the mob, who is still at large. Wzesinski, Shurman, the latter's w r ife, Norma Barbara Shurman, 25, and Harry Strom, 50, Chicago were apprehended in New York. Strom was returned over to custody of Cleveland authorities for prosecution in the $6,700 holdup last year of a bank in that city. Mrs. Earl Shubert and baby boy are spending the week with relatives.
