John Veriga Of VVheatfield Dies

Native Of Lithuania Had Been County Resident Ten Years; Rites Held Monday John A. Veriga, a resident of Wheatfield community for ten years and previous to that a resident of Chicago, died at the family home at 11:30 o’clock Saturday morning. He had been in all health for some time. Mr. Veriga was born in Lithuania October 28, 1885, a son of Anthony and Helen Butcus Veriga. He was married to Frances Kisselius in Lithuania February 3, 1909. Coming to America from his native land, he lived in Chicago for a number of years and then went to Wheatfield to engage in farming. Surviving besides the widow' are a son, Claude J. Veriga of Oak Lawn 111., and a daughter, Mrs. Joan Lapinskas of Chicago, and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 9 o’clock Monday morning from Sorrowful Mother Church, with the Rev. Fr. Sylvester P. Klein in charge. Burial was made at St. Casimar cemetery in Chicago, Todd’s Funeral Home in charge.
