Youth Badly Injured As Car Strikes Bridge

Leonard Stepp, a resident of eastern Jasper county, suffered multiple contusions and internal injuries Saturday when the car in which he was riding struck a bridge one-half-mile east of Highway 53 on Higlnvay 14. His condition is termed serious. X-ray examination is scheduled for this afternoon. Companions of the injured man escaped injury. The accident resulted about one o’clock this morning when the 1947 Ford Tudor owned and driven by Walter F. Jackson, 29, of Medaryville, struck a bridge railing as it traveled eastward. Also in the car were Clyde Krish, Raymond Risner and Arthur Stepp, the latter a brother of the injured man. The front of the car w r as demolished. Damage to the car was estimated at SSOO.
