Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Neece and daughters of Hebron,' lowa, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Peterson 7 this week. Mrs. Peterson and Mrs. Neece are sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rockstrath of San Bernadino, Cal., are building a new home on their 5 acres Northwest ,of town, purchased from Mrs. E. Kerlinski. Joan Sewema, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sekema, Jr., had her tonsils removed at the Jasper county hospital last Saturday. Rev. and Mrs. Halverson and children and Miss Lynn of Omaha. Neb., visited the Wm. Petersons this week. Mrs. Halverson and Mr. Peterson are brother and sister. •_Mrs. Bush of Wheatfield, grandmother of Paul Bush of here, suffered a stroke last week and is seriously ill in the Jasper county hospital. Mrs. Edna Frame visited over the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Struble in Gary. Friday they attended the Tulip Festival at Holland, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Curtin were at French Lick, Indiana from Thursday through Sunday attending a car dealer’s convention. The Senior class of DeMotte high school spent Tuesday and Wednesday at the Dells in Wisconsin with Mr. and Mrs. Stangle as chaperones. Mrs. Lois Banning entertained the bridge club Friday . evening. Prizes were won by Frances Zeck, Florence Curtin, Helen Watson, Sue Evans and Jerry Ramp. Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Blankenbaker moved into their new home just North of the telephone office last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hockney and Janet of Thayer, Miss Ann Peter and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Peter of Lake Forrest, 111., spent Sunday with the Ivan Cheevers. Joan DeYoung celebrated her tenth birthday with a party for seven of her girl friends Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stephenson and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stephenson and daughter, Mrs. Johnspn nd Helen Zeck of Michigan City were Sunday guests at the Fiank Zecks. Dr. Duvall and Elbert Cheever flew to Waukegan. 111., Sunday and delivered a plane there. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stevens were Valparaiso shoppers last Tuesday. The women of the Methodist church held a pot luck farewell supper for Mrs. Lorraine Gorbet Thursday evening as they are leaving for Phoenix, Arizona next week. Mr. Samuel P. Suffern. FRD 1, DeMotte, Indiana, has completed a Course in Practical apd Theoretical Radio and Television and has been awarded a Diploma by the National Radio Institute of Washington, D. C. He finished the prescribed Course of technical studies with creditable grades and is to be congratulated upon his achievement.
