Mrs. Lulu Bastin Of Wheatfield Dies

Mrs. Lulu F. Bastin, a resident of Wheatfield community for eighteen years, died at the home of her son-in-law, Charles Williams, in Wheatfield at 11:05 o’clock Tuesday morning. Her death followed a 2-day illness. Mrs. Bastin was born in Russell county, Kentucky, January 8, 1873, the daughter of John Smiley and Lucy Ann (Bailey) Smiley. She continued to live in Kentucky until moving to Wheatfield. Mrs. Bastin was twice married, the first time in 1895 to Marion Milroy who passed away, and then to Morgue Bastin, also deceased. Surviving are a son, Albert Milroy, of Wheatfield, and a daughter, Mrs. Lenh Williams, also of Wheatfield, 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bastin was a member of the Baptist church. Funeral services were conducted by Todd’s Funeral Home from Roselawn Methodist church at 1:30 o’clock Thursday, with the Rev. W. D. Archibald in charge. Burial was at Roselawn cemetery.
