EX-DEMOTTE STOREKEEPER DIES FRIDAY
Samuel McGinnis Passes Away Following Short Illness; Services To Be Sunday Samuel McGinnis, for fifty eight years a resident of Declotte and for thii’ty-five years ; the mercantile field there, died at the family residence at 3:05 o’clock Friday morning. The death of the venerable man came after a. 2-day illness. N Mr. McGinnis was bom at Medaryville September 4, 1861, where he lived until going to DeMotte in 1890. He was a son of James and Mary (Long) McGinnis. He was married to Nancy Ann Tyler of Medaryville at Winamac November 20, 1884. Six years later they moved to Demotte, Surviving are the wife, a daughter, Mrs. Eva Mosier, a son, Elmer, of DeMotte, a brother, Alec McGinnis, of Medaryville, nine grandchildren and fourteen greatgrandchildren. Three children, James, Bertha and Arminta, preceded him in death. . Mr. McGinnis was a member of the Methodist church of DeMotte, from where Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 o’clock Sunday. The Rev. W. D. Archibald was in charge. Burial was at DeMotte cemetery.
