AUXILIARY MEMBERS VISIT VETERAN’S HOSPITAL AT MARION, INDIANA
Ten members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 440 drove to Marion, Indiana last Thursday, February 12, to participate in the Veteran’s birthday party, which was held in the gymnasium of the hospital there. Entertainment was in the form of a three piece orchestra, group singing and special numbers. Our Legion men spoke a word of greeting to the boys there and the speaker. Refreshments were served to the boys and girls. Our Auxiliary shared in bringing and serving. From then on we visited the various occupational therapy shops, which were of great interest. What held our attention most of all was the Poppy shop, in which veterans were busily engaged in making the memorial poppies. Tables everywhere were filled with their bright red colors. The Auxiliary is happy to state that- our quota for this year is 1000 poppies, which will be made by these boys at Marion Veterans hospital. A birthday party is held the second Thursday of each month at this hospital for the boys and girls there. It is sponsored by the various auxiliaries of the different districts. Anyone is welcome to attend. Drive there sometime and meet the veterans who *sacwifieecUso much, that you and I might enjoy freedom. Those who attended last week enjoyed the visit every much.
