INDIANS WHIP CHEROKEES
The CherokGes from over Fair Oaks way came to DeMotte last Friday expecting to scalp our Indians. What a surprise they received. They were stunned and even loyal Indians rooters were surprised as our team turned in the kind of game that fans had been expecting from them during the season. Starting fast the Indians rolled to a 19-4 first quarter lead on some fancy sniping by Kingma, Rowen, and Cheever. The team continued to show the same spark and drive through-out the second and third periods and at the third quarter mark led 49-30. At this point the reserves took over completely and finished the game, winning in easy fashion 59-29. Friday night, February 6, the Indians travel to Knox to play the Knox Redskins, winner of the Starke county championship this year. Tuesday night, February 10, the Mt. Ayr Ayrdales will come to our gym for a game. Winner in nine out of eleven games this year, the Ayrdales are tough. They beat us December 2, at Mt. Ayr, by a 30 26 score. Our team will need to be sharp to take these two. Be sharp, team! Go get’em!
