RURAL YOUTH CLUB MEETS AT WHEATFIELD
The January meeting of the Jasper County Rural Youth Club was held at the Wheatfield school, January 20. Due to the absCT&e of dent, Clarence Duttlinger, the meeting was conducted by Thelma Jackson. A poem entitled, “Courage” was read by Bill Ramey. Reports were made by the committees a 3 to the progress of the plans for the Valentine Dance which is being sponsored by the club. This semi-formal dance will be held at the Rensselaer, Armory February 10. Tickets for the dance were distributed among the members. Anyone wishing to purchase tickets may contact any of the members. Rules for a membership contest were presented to the group and were accepted. The contest will last until May 20, with the losing side acting as host to the winners. A motion was made that a donation be made to the “March of Dimes” and one to the “Save the Shades Campaign.” Announcement was made that the February meeting will be at the Marion School. Elizabeth Pettet led the group
in recreation. Refreshments of doughnuts and coffee were served.
