MAY IDLE 200.000 IN FUEL CUTBACKS

Detroit, Jan. 27. —* Some 200,000 Detroit auto workers faced layoffs for the second time in a week today as the Michigan Consolidated Gas company asked industrial users in the area to halt operations tomorrow night until next Tuesday morning. The Gas company request will be observed by scores of small and major plants. Production will be suspended for three days—• Thursday, Friday and Monday. Auto industry employes do not work Saturdays.
