GIVEN $1 FINE AND SUSPENDED SENTENCE
John Molden was arrested at Korker’s Inn early Saturday morning by State Trooper Robert Bostwick, who filed a public intoxication charge against him. Marshall Clifford Kerns was called to the John Morehouse tavern in Wheatfield to pick up Molden, who was said to have been carrying a P-38 automatic. When the officer arrived Molden and his conpanions had departed. He then, notified the Sheriff’s office in Rensselaer and Bostwick accompanied the Sheriff Webb and Deputy Lesh and located Molden at Korker’s Inn. He was wearing an empty holster. He told the officers he had given the weapon to his son to take home. Monday afternoon Molden was arraigned in Jasper circuit court, where he pleaded guilty to a charge of public intoxication. He was fined $1 and costs and received a six month suspended sentence at the State Penal farm. He is the father of 14 children.
