IN SWAMP SLAYING

i Valparaiso, Ind., Jan. 22 Attorneys for 34-year-old James Muscarello today filed a motion to suppress evidence in his trial here Feb. 9 for the slaying of Mrs. Irene Shawsky, 30, Chicago. Attorneys contended his confession of the slaying was obtained while he was under influence of truth serum. A hearing was scheduled Jan. 24 on the motion. Mrs. Shawsky’s body was found in a Gary swamp. Police said she had been strangled. Muscarello surrendered to police and later was indicted.
