POPULAR TEACHER IS MARRIED
In a beautiful candlelight ceremony performed December 26 in the Methodist church in Butler, Indiana, Miss Carolyn Fanning, daughter of Mrs. Mina M. Fanning of West Oak street, and the 'late Dr. Frank Fanning, became ■ the bride of Robert Moody, son 1 of Mr. and Mrs. Murch L. Moody lof Garrett. The attendants were j Mrs. Earl Miller of Garrett, the ; former Sally Fetter, as matron of honor and Alan Fitch of east I of Garrett as best man. The ushers were Gerald Muzzillo and Robert Shreve also of Garrett. Pine branches interspersed with bouquets of poinsettia and seven branch candelabras holding lighted white cathedral tapers formed a beautiful background before which the young couple plighted their troth, repeating their vows after the Rev. L. G. Sapp, pastor of the church. Flowers tied with white satin ribbons marked the pews where the relatives were seated. While the guests were arriving Mrs. Henry Funk of Butler presented a fifteen minute organ musicale, her numbers including “Drink To Me Only With Thine Eyes,” “Intermezzo,” and “Serenade” Romberg and “The Rosary.” During the reading of the vows, Mrs. Funk softly played “Indian I Love Call” and the traditional wedding marches were used as a processional and recessional. The bride, given in marriage by her mother, walked alterward in a wedding gown of white slipper satin. The bodice was styled with a low neckline and short puffed sleeves. Tiny self-covered buttons trimmed the bodice in the back from the neck to the waistline, j The full skirt ended in a short train. The veil of illusion was' finger-tip length and was held in place by a lace bonnet. She cairied a colonial bouquet of white roses and wore a strand of , pearls, her gift from the groom. Mrs. Miller’s gown was a black velvet bodice worn with a poudre 1 bluenet skirt and she liad a matching plume in her hair. Her flowers were an arrangement of red roses. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Fanning chose a grey crepe frock with a fitted bodied that had long sleeves and a draper | skirt. Her accessories were black and she wore a shoulder corsage 1 of pink carnations. Mrs. Moody.l the bridegroom’s mother, was attired in a black frock with- hat, gloves and footwear of black and a shoulder corsage of pink roses. A reception was held in the Fann i-.g home from 7 to 9 o’clock. The < ning room was decorated in white and a linen cover was pia< d vh the dining table. The bri ’ three-tiered cake, topped wii miniature bride and groom, i on a bed of greenery and lighted tapers in crystal holderswere placed at either side of the cake. Those assisting with -the. serving were Miss Barbara Sanders of Angola, Mrs, Willard Owen of Kendallville, Miss Marjorie Losure of LaPorte, Mrs. Harold Bellamy Fort Wayne and Mrs.Clayton H. Fetter of Garrett. When the newlyweds left for their wedding trip the bride was wearing an aqua, tailored' dress with black hat, gloves, purse, and footwear and a black fur trimmed coat. Her flowers were roses from the center of the bridal bouquet. For t|je present the newlyweds will make their home with (
their parents. The bride is, a graduate of Butler high school and was graduated last June from Indiana university. She is teaching in the DeMotte school. The groom, a World War II navy veteran, served three years as an electrician’s mate, second ‘class. He is now attending Purdue university extension .at Fort Wayne.
