SCHWANKE-BURCH
Miss Marcella Schwanke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Schwanke, of DeMotte, became the bride of Mr. Donald Burch, son of Mrs. Ethyl Burch of Valparaiso, Sunday, January 11, in a beautiful ceremony performed in the DeMotte Methodist church by Rev. Archibald. The attendants were Mrs. Perry Coberly, sister of the bride, as matron of honor and Robert Hutton as best man. The ushers were Leland Schwanke, brother of the bride, and Robert Burch, brother of the groom. Mrs. Fred Schwanke, accomplished pianist, played, “At Dawning,” “Clair de Lune,” and the “Wedding March.” Miss Kathleen Saucer, accompanied by Mrs. Schwanke sang favorite songs of the bride, “Because,” “Always,” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in a white satin bridal gown, with finger tip veil. She carried a white Bible and American Beauty roses. The groom was attired in a navy blue pencilstripe suit. Mrs. Coberly’s gown was a rosepink formal and she carried white carnations. For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Schwanke wore a Navy blue dress and a corsage of white gardenias. Mrs. Burch, the groom’s mother wore an aqua blue dress and a corsage of white gardenias. The brides sisters served at a large reception held immediately following the wedding. The young coupie recefred many gifts? After a week of travel, Mr. and Mrs. Burch will be at home in Valparaiso.
