INDEPENDENT TOURNAMENT CALLED OFF

The independent basketball tournament scheduled for New Year’s day was called off because of the weather. DeMotte, Wheatfield, Roselawn and Lowell were to have played four games. The Roselawn team and referee Paul Gates of Rensselaer braved the icy roads and made their appearance about one o’clock, <, but stayed only long enough to learn DeMotte had no electricity.
