SENTENCE SPIES

Warsaw, Dec. 29 A military tribunal in Rzeszov, south-eastern Poland, sentenced one defendant to death and seven others to four to 15 years in prison today for spying on behalf of foreign powers and for other anti-government activities.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hoffman of Lafayette are home for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. R. Jensen and son, Jimmie of Logansport were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Todd. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Stangle of Evergreen Park, 111., visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stangle over the holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Rrank Frame Jr., of Xenia, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Struble of Gary and Adam Smith and daughters were Christmas day guests of Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Frame Sr. Mrs. Adam was unable to be with them because of an appendectomy operation performed in the Rensselaer hospital last Wednesday. She is getI ting along fine. j Mr. Phillip Austin, employed 1 by the DeMotte Hotel, was taken to the Rensselaer hospital in the Todd ambulance last Saturday for medical attention. He returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson spent Christmas day in Hobart. Dennis Swart wrecked his car in Chicago Christmas day.
