D. L TANNER PASSES AWAY SUNDAY A.M.
Lifetime Resident of, Community Succumbs Following’ Extended Decline Daniel Ik Tanner, Sr., of Wheatfield, practically a lifetime resident of Jasper county and once prominent in Rensselaer, died at Wabash Valley Sanitorium in Lafayette at 4:30 o’clock Sunday morning. His death came after a year of declining health. He was hospitalized in Rensselaer several months ago, and from there went to the sanitorium where he died. Frank Tanner of Rensselaer is a son of the deceased. Mr. Tanner was horn in Lowell, Indiana. December 29, 1869, a son of Joseph Tanner and Mary Ann (Greisel) Tanner. During his boyhood the family came to Jasper county and he had since lived in this county. He was married to Tillie Stankie* who died in 1908. Two years later, April 4, 1910, he was married to Barbara Elizabeth Moosemiller. Surviving are the widow, five children, ‘Frank of Rensselaer, Mrs. Josephine Sargent of near Rensselaer. Mrs. Mary Worley of Highland, Ind., Mrs. Verona Crawford of Los Angeles and Daniel Jr., of DeMotte; three brothers, Fred Tanner of California, Elmer Tanner of Texas and Frank Tanner of Colorado, and a sister, Mrs. Mamie Worley of Lowell. A son, Glen, by the first marriage preceded him in death. Ten grandchildren are also listed among the survivors. Funeral services were held from Todd’s Funeral Home at 1 o’clock Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Edmund Worley of Lowell was in charge. Interment was at Weston cemetery in Rensselaer.-=—-
