Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kelly and daughter of Mishawaka spent the week-end at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Kelly and son. P. L. Bauman of Bauman's Feed Mill, accompanied by San Fieldhouse, A. H. Melchart, Peter Tanis and Ralph DeKock, all of DeMotte, visited the 738-acre Research Farm of the Ralston Purina Company at Gray Summit, Mo., recently. Mr. Roy Hall, former owner of the Halco Bookkeeping & Tax Service of Valparaiso was in town Wednesday to bid goodbye to friends before leaving for Phoenix, Arizona where he will establish permanent residence. A cross . country flight, an element of his flying course was taken in stride last week by Bruce Todd with Dr. E. E. Duval as his flying companion. Mrs. Melva Barker Sr., was guest of honor at a birthday party in her home, given by her daughters, Friday night, October 17. A large birthday cake, centered with 48 candles, centered the table. Supper was served to 25. The honor guest received many lovely gifts, among them one dozen of American Beauty Roses.
