BROTHERS ARE SENTENCED TO STATE PRISON

Albert And Fred Heck Sentenced To 1 To 10 Years On Gran d Larceny Charge Albert 11. Heck, 28, and his brother Fred, 25, of south of I>eMotte, were sentenced to Pendleton prison for one to ten years in Jasper circuit court last Friday after they had pleaded guilty to a charge of grand larceny. Each, was fined $lO and eosts. The brothers admitted the theft of a pump from Mike Haskell a neighbor, and three batteries from the William Gehring farms. They also admitted that from time to time they had raider! farms to steal gasoline. However, they were not accused of the latter. The court hearing developed that on one occasion their mother accompanied them to a spot near where they made a theft of gasoline.- Their father is dead and their mother is remarried. There are three other children in the household, who range in age from 12 to 10 years. These children had not been attending school, but upon orders given last week they entered school the first of last week. The prisoners were removed to Pendleton Friday. Sheriff Webb reports there has been a wave of thefts in northern Jasper county of recent months. Of late, night patrols have been, made, with the result thieving has abruptly.
