UNIT OF DEMOTTE POST NO. 440 AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY
Expanding activities of the American Region Auxiliary offer new members wide apportunity for interesting and important service, according to Mrs. Mildred Boissy, President of the Auxiliary's DeMotte Unit, in an invitation isused today to all eligible women to come into the organization at this time. Ahead is most eventful period in the history of the American Legion Auxiliary, Mrs, Boissy said. New demands for our services are coming in every field of our activities. We are expanding our organization to meet them and creating opportunities for our new members to enjoy in full the rewards of working with the Legion ' for .our veterans and our Country. Our Auxiliar y Unit works closely with the American Legion Post, giving active support to all Legion projects where the work of women can be helpful. The Auxiliary has much to offer that will brighten an<ilrroaden_JJiii__iivjea"of eligible ' wornen. More veterans are becoming disabled every day from results of injuries or * illnesses suffered in the service. The Auxiliary will use its strength to aid the American Legion in bringing to all of These men and women the best of care and a just measure of compensation. No child of an American war veteran must ever be left in need, the number of veterans’ children has been multiplied many times by the second world war. The Auxiliary is also expanding its child welfare program to meet this situation. We feel that this work is vitally important to the future of our community and the nation, as well as to the children themselves. With in a few years they —will lie adults and whether they are happy, useful citizens or costly problems depends often upon the aid we bring them now. In these endeavors, as in all other Auxiliary attenties, we need the support of all women of veterans families. I am sure that every wife,* mother, sister or daughter of a Legionnaire can help.
