Mrs. Neola True, Miss Beanblossom and Mr.‘and Mrs. Clyde Story were visitors in Kankakee, 111., Sunday. Watch for the opening of a new gift shop in peMotte on November Ist. Will handle hand embroidered articles •of all kinds and stamped goods "including some baby things. Mr. O. Rowen 'started his new 24x24 building this week, next to the Methodist church. It will be occupied .by Mr. and Mrs. Win. Rowen and daughter. Mr. • and Mrs. Sampson and son spent the week-end visiting relatives and friends in 111. . w inois. Mr. and Mrs. 'Clair Misch and daughter of Ker&ey were Sunday dinner guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and'Mrs. Bert Boezeman. 'Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Tysen were Ralph Tysen and sons of Blue Island, 111., Mr. and Mis. Nick Drent and children of Lansing, 111., Mr. and Mrs. John Tysen and children of Wheat field.; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hamstra and Mr and Mrs. Bernard Tysen and daughter, Pamela. James Story was injured Sunday evening, about 6 p.m. while riding a scooter in Hebron. He was thrown from the scooter when he struck some loose gravel •while riding. He suffered a cracked wrist bone on the left arm. His left knee caps was also

cracked. His right leg was scratched and brusied» Vj Melva Barker Sr.. was honored Thursday night with a birthdtay party in honor of his 57th birthday. There were twenty-five guests. A large cake centered the table and; the honor guest received many lovely gifts. As the guests left at a late hour they wished Mr. Barker many happy returns of the day. Mr. and Mrs, Bruce Stucker and son, Larry and her mother, spent the week-end in South Bend with relatives. While there Mrs. Stucker attended a hair sityle preview. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kleinpaste of Dayton, Ohio and daughter and son-in-law and grandchildren of Hammond visited Tuesday with their sister and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Boezeman. Mr. and Mrs. John Koster Sr., left Tuesday evening for Everette, Washington, for an extended visit of friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Francis De Kocker and children and Mrs. Leona Kelly of Mishawaka spent Wednesday visiting in and around Brookston, Ind. Mr. and Mis. Larry Smalley of Chicago were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Todd.
