KEENER 4-H

The sixth meeting of the DeMotte Keener First girls 4-H club was held Saturday night, August 2 at the school. The meeting was called to order by the President. Eleanor Klip then lead the pledge to the American Flag. Janet Hammerton lead the 4-H song. The Roll Call was answered by “Are You Ready for Exhibit,” and the dues were paid. The treasurers report was given. Plans were made for the local exhibit which was held Thursday, August 7. 4-H camp was discussed. Plans were made for the club members to have a Slumber Party. But as yet there is no definite date. The record books were checked and questions were asked on club work. The 4-H pledge was lead by Ruth Uoberly. The meeting was; then adjourned. Refreshments were served. consisting of home-made cookies. ice cream and a soft drink. Those on the refreshment committee were Doris Coberly, Joyce Hamstra. Joan Kaper and Judith Kingma. r Mr. and Mrs. Sam De Kock entertained Sunday. Aug. 10. with a birthday party in honor of their son. LaVerne's 20th anniversary. A large birthday cake centered the table and gladiolus also was used as table decorations. The honor guest received many lovely gifts. Those invited were Mr. and Mrs. .Charles Summers of Rensselaer, Mr. and Mrs. Summers of Mt. Ayr, Mrs. Porter and son. Darwin, Jean Schuringa and Mrs. Lilly Newman of Rensselaer. _ Mb gm
