RURAL YOUTH MEETING

The August meeting of the Jasper County Rural Youtii Club was held in the East Courtroom of the courthouse Tuesday, August? 19. Mr. Bahler took the group through the County Recorder’s office explaining each step in the porcedure of recording deeds and mortgages. He also explained the duties and responsiblilities of the county officers and how they obtain office. After the tour of Mr. Bahler’s office was completed the group held their business meeting. Discussion was held as to how we would select a member to represent our club in the District Talk Fest. The club president appointed a committee to select several members who will complete in a similar talk fest in our own club at the next meeting. Of this group one will be chosen to go to the district contest. The subject for discussion will be some timely phase of education. A committee was also appointed to plan a weiner roast as a special meeting. The board members to serve for the coming year were to have been elected at this meeting, however, it was decided to postpone this until a later date. The recreation committee conducted a scavenger hunt after which refreshments were served.
